Generic Hanging Chair Instructions
2. Making a knot through the large S hook for hanging chair to eye bolt.(see diagram A-D above)
Put the two top ends of the overhead rope evenly through the closed end (eye) of the bigger S hook.
Maintain equal rope lengths between the knot and the chair on both sides. Diagram A
You will now be working with 4 strands of rope. Now make a loop with the four strands of rope. Diagram B
Push the end with the S hook through the loop and tighten. Diagram C Hook the S hook to the Eye Bolt. 3.
3. Installing dowels into dowel pockets.
Longest for overhead, The 2 medium size dowels are the arm dowels, and the small dowel is for the footrest.
4. Hanging the footrest
Put the end of the rope attached to the footrest through the smaller S hook remaining. Tie an OVERHEAD KNOT and insert that S hook into the same Eyebolt as the chair. Adjust the overhead knot so that the height of the footrest is just below the bottom of the seat of the chair. Adjust that OVERHEAD KNOT to Raise or lower footrest to desired comfort.
5. Attaching optional armrests and bev holder
Slip the armrest straps over the ends of each arm dowel and insert back into dowel pocket. Wrap the bev holder strap over any dowel and then pull the cupholder through the loop created by the strap of the cupholder.
Height and Reclining
See main diagram for location of side knots. Adjust BOTH side knots forward or back in equal lengths. For chairs with rope brakes, slide the rope brakes up to the overhead dowel. To check equal lengths, take the overhead dowel out, see that the arm dowels are at the same height and angle. Raise or lower the chair height via the OVERHAND KNOT. The ideal height for a 6' person is about 14 inches. We recommend not exceeding 15 inches off the floor.
